Germany's Solar Outlook Brightens

Prospects for the German PV sector have significantly improved with recent news that the government will not now be enforcing tariff cuts.

Yes. Germany is advancing in Solar at a rapid speed. Opposition for Nuclear power and German's acceptance of Renewables as clean energy will help further the growth of solar in Germany.

We China has a rich Si resource, and some project is expecting investment of US$120,000,000 to build a manufacturing plant in order to make high pure Si, the original Si ore has been purified by local enterprise with puriarity 0f 98%.

Tildy - FYI German feed in tariffs are NOT subsidies. They are not funded with any tax payer money so technically they are not a government subsidy. Peter

Brucycle: The money comes from an addition to the electricity price stack that makes up our bill when we pay for electricity. Wholesale electricity usually only makes 25-30% of this bill for domestic consumers (depending on market etc) The rest is made up of ancillary services (backup power, frequency control) poles and wires, HV transmission lines etc.

By adding a couple of cents to the electricity bill to fund 1000s of Megawatts of Wind has a corresponding effect of reducing wholesale price volatility and therefore reducing wholesale prices for a similar amount.

Result - large scale renewable energy rollout that is cost neutral to consumers. Or even cost positive, returning a dividend which is what is happening now.
