Good for China! Soon the USA will be in their dust in yet another area of RE deployment. Our fragmented government policies can allow us to only "Smile and wave boys, smile and wave."
We have to maintain phoney deficits, phoney wars, and phoney political banter.

The Chinese Know Renewable Energy is a good thing. Most of the rest of the World is still a slave to Oil, Coal and Nuclear Power. All the Governments of the World now know it is wise to use Renewable Energy it is the Local Governments that are a little slow to learn what is best for all not just there pocket book.

They fear people going off the grid all that tax money they will no longer be able to take from you. Wind and Solar Farms are growing all over the Earth. This could have happen years ago if the greedy wicked were stopped by the Real Good.
The Freedom to get your own Power from the Wind and Sun, Solar Energy has been there for years. Are Libraries and Schools should have been the first to have gone Solar and Renewable Energy.

Thank GOD for the Pioneers like John Schaeffer that Started Real Goods The first and Best catalog for Renewable Energy and Scientist Bill Young at the FSEC Florida Solar Energy Center and Monica D. Key Lindbergh for many years wrote to our legislators promoting Solar and Renewable Energy and many others. These Pioneers helped put Wind, Solar And Renewable Energy in the Spotlight for all the World to see.
The Great Scientist Albert Einstein Stared it with a Dream that the day would come that all the World would use Solar Energy. His discovery of the law of the Photoelectric Effect won him the Nobel Prize in Physics. We still do not teach this to our young.

GOD Bless all that help tell this to the World

It really is shameful that North America is languishing so far behind in renewable energy. Amongst other problems with the economy an oportunity is being missed to get us back on our feet.
Building codes are not changing to emphasise efficiency, FIT is still being debated while we watch the benifits bear fruit in other countries and ROI is still presented as one of the purchasers biggest obstacles. What is the return on investment for thr average Stupid Useless Vehicle?
There is a lack of political leadership and a populus that willfully ignores the consequences of business as usual in spite of the warnings of what will result from our collective actions.
We could, if we wanted to, develop a solar dependent civilization by simply doing more with less and emphasizing efficiency, efficiency and afficiency.
Thanks for the note on Albert Paul, it is a dream I share as well.
My talking about it with others in the construction industry receives more scorn than curiosity or aceptance. I will not get discouraged though for Albert also let us know that human stupidity is the only infinite thing in the universe.
To some the world is still flat but most of us eventually learn.

The coupling of key technologies should help China continue to escalate the quality of life for their citizens. Having 5 year plans, allows them the much needed political agenda changes that quickly changing advancements in technology call for.
1-Building cell towers and manufacturing millions of tablet type computers for their children's educational use while the solar infrastructure building goes on makes good sense. The cost of using the best teachers via the internet is lowered greatly when digital books are used. They will be ready for the coming robotics stage utilizing an expanded use of solar assisted manufacturing. They will have many more students academically ready for the jobs in these new industries. Education that was formally only open to the rich will be enjoyed by many.
2-Allowing software platforms that allow the public a lower cost of purchase may seem like a small item, but it spreads educational enrichment to many more citizens. Limiting patent rights is a well founded idea. Hacking seems to be almost legitimized, when raising the quality of life for so many. Especially in the health/medical/education fields. These types of hackers may very well be today's heroes.
3-The solar infrastructure being created by the FIT will not only lower power costs for the average citizen, but conveniently ushers in the age of the electric car. Recharging swappable batteries moves China to a cleaner-greener environment, almost by accident.
4-Not having to be involved in the mid east oil price protection business frees up trillions of dollars to use for quietly advancing the overall quality of life.
5-Robotics powered by renewables will grow dramatically. It is amusing to watch some of their robots bow, prior to tasking. If they choose to move funding into the military arena, especially when it is funded by interest from the US debt. The scale of military robotics may grow on a par similar to the US.
