A great article yes the wind world has significantly changed. However the focus is on a key area site seletion, but what about the challenges of deployment, both in transportation and erection, when turbine size is increased. In an informal survey of the crane manufactures at the AWEA Show on the question about increased turbine height to find them "struggling to reach current max heights and head scrathing about higher heights". Yes if we can find these sites where capacity rates ore improved at higher wind resources but we can erect them! looks like we need some major creavity in this area...
