Enphase Energy released the 215-Series Microinverter, with a 25-year limited warranty and proprietary cabling system called Engage System. The series begins with the standalone 215Wac M215 Microinverter.

June 7, 2011 -- Enphase Energy released the 215-Series photovoltaic (PV) microinverter, with a 25-year limited warranty and proprietary cabling system called Engage System. The series begins with the standalone 215Wac M215 Microinverter.

Click to EnlargeWeighted power conversion efficiency is 96% (CEC). The microinverters showcase Enphase Energy's third-generation technology, engineered to maximize 60-cell photovoltaic module performance. At 215Wac, the new microinverter has an output that is 13% higher than previous generations.

The Enlighten monitoring and analysis service is now included with the Envoy communications gateway to maximize system uptime.

Enphase Energy will distribute the microinverter immediately in North America with CSA certification and in Europe H2 2011 with VDE certification. Enphase-enabled AC modules from leading PV module manufacturers are expected to ship in H1 2012.

The 215-Series ACM model eliminates rack mounting, a separate system ground wire, and DC cable management.

The Engage System is a patent-pending "plug-and-play" mechanical and electrical interconnection system for streamlining solar installations. The size-to-fit Engage Cable's built-in connectors can support an entire 4kW system on one branch. It can be cut to length, and is kitted with additional cable terminations and splices. The Engage Port ACM microinverter port replaces the standard DC junction box on a PV module.

Enphase Energy asserts that the Engage System requires no specialized equipment or additional training. SolarUniverse Inc. is one of the first installers of the M215, and referred to the system as lightweight, easy to install, and producing less waste during installation.
