This is great news! It would be even better if they had adopted an 'upstream' version of cap-and-trade: see http://www.mng.org.uk/turnofftap and http://www.mng.org.uk/euets .

I just happened to browse on over to this web page. I might just as well let everyone know right up front I am against any form of Cap and Trade system for the following reasons.

1. Cap and Trade does not create wealth for the group of American people who need it most. In fact it robs the people of needed funds by increasing the cost of energy at a time when we should be doing exactly the opposite.
2. Cap and Trade is perceived by many Americans as just another tax to help create a bigger government and/or to line the pockets of a select group of individuals or corporations who hold or will be trading carbon credits.
3. Cap and Trade does little to create a larger workforce who pay taxes but does the opposite by removing needed capital from the private investment sector, and;
4. Cap and Trade is not a product; you can't eat it, the public can't spend or save it, you can't drive it or plant it in the ground and watch it grow.

And just for the fun of it - all this cap and trade program does is shuffle smoke from one place to another while the government siphons off some of the funds.

Did people not pay attention to our President when he said; under my plan of Cap and Trade the cost of electricity will necessarily skyrocket. How different is this plan from the presidents plan.
