The West Coast (including Vancouver, B.C.), California, Oregon and Washington, will continue its leadership, ahead of the rest of the US in clean tech innovation, smart grid deployments, and progress towards a region-wide sustainable energy future.

With Oregon's governor's race now decided, the election of Democrat John Kitzhaber will help ensure that the state's clean energy leadership strategy and policies of the past 4 years, coupled to an economic foundation of tax incentives, together, will continue working for clean tech businesses and the people of Oregon. Kitzhaber's opponent, Republican Chris Dudley, ran on an energy platform of promoting off-shore deep sea oil drilling, espousing the myth of global warming uncertainty, and a suspension of Oregon's Business Energy Tax Credits. The re-election of Washington State Democrat, Senator Patty Murray, will further advance the west coast clean energy agenda (that race remains undecided as of this writing).

California proved again they wish to bankrupt their state with the delusion that they can mandate an economically viable Utopia. They don't require the Left to step up to the plate & use their "Superior Intellect" to put together scenarios that are economically viable.

Economic viability doesn't come from ignoring capital expenses & throwing in every imaginable catastrophe that present activities could cause.

Sell able spin off benefits from Renewable energy aren't items like clean air. Clean air maybe a by-product, but not a SELL-ABLE benefit. It becomes a free be that dollars aren't seen by the masses. Non sell-able benefits maybe appreciated by the Left & scientist, but in today's cost by the masses is a joke.

We have seen how the Left will hate the activity as soon as it is installed. Batteries are in self destruct mode working towards being toxic waste. Wind turbine kill birds & are ugly. Covering the desert will change the environment.

Wind and Solar developments only make money for their developers. They are not a good investment.

We need more innovation before wasting resources on wind and solar. Until they can create AFFORDABLE electricity they are not a good investment and they are not solving the energy problem.

We need breakthroughs, not subsidies or tax breaks.

Another politico to watch is David Camp out of Michigan. Although a Repub, he has a good history of supporting RE development and he's about to become the head of the House Ways and Means Committee. That committee is key to getting any sort of mandate passed.
