Using Nevada as an example of green jobs is a poor choice. What is there, in a state with abundant sunshine available, maybe 1000 consumers (rooftops) directly using solar power?
The green jobs will come when consumers are able use thier greenback energy savings to stimulate the economy. The extra 300 bucks a week (from the consumer) will bolster many other businesses.
Harry Reid has just helped to feed the local utility monopoly and continues to do so. Once the solar farms are built, the jobs are gone for the most part, with construction labor again on the unemployment rolls.

electric38 - You're forgetting about the wind and the geothermal. Nevada can pull a hat-trick in regards to RE generation. But it's going to take baby steps and a state legislature with some balls.

You have to make green energy a cake with the icing piled high and thick--------something people are drooling to bring home. Not a bitter potion they have to hold their nose and gag on for their own good.

What about an indirect measure: count the number of green MW that that $60 billion bought.

If you crank out enough green MW the jobs are sure to follow...
