Dear Mr Best,

We're delighted that your kingdom, the Bank of England, and its subsidiaries are finally starting to consider developing a healthy domestic manufacturing economy rather than dragging Americans and planet Earth into more debt slavery and "profitable" petro-banking warfare.

Imagine if all nations under NATO occupation redirected our resources toward creating a free and fair, market-based solar economy....

The best way to do so is to mandate our treasuries to replace debt-based IOU currencies with sound money such as genuine silver dollars, United States Notes backed by domestic hydrocarbon reserves, and appropriately valued Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) directly issued to individual (legally transparent) citizens:

Why not start by allowing Americans to buy and manufacture the efficient turbo-diesels you have on that side of the pond, and to stop taxing us for your grandiose military-industrial complex presently costing over $1 trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) each and every year - not including incalculable pollution and misery?

Interesting article John. Can't help but agree with thoughts around how else will so many jobs be created in the UK. Good to see plans are afoot to make those jobs a reality. All the best with that.

Look forward to reading more as things progress.

Dear Mr Best and all UK and US renewable colleagues,

First of all I would personally encourage and appreciate every single effort in creating sustainable development and more specifically long term 'green jobs'.
Large scale projects are important in achieving national targets in renewable energy production and cutting the carbon emissions.

At the same time real time development also occurs in a significant scale in small/mid size wind energy projects which do create local long term 'green jobs' and in particularly have advantageous impact on human behaviour which is crucial for long term results.
I would like to refer to innovative statement by Minister of State at DECC in the UK:

"As we move out of recession, we have a historic opportunity to green the economy and build a cleaner future. We are putting the financial framework in place to unlock the considerable interest and dynamism around this agenda. I am confident that these measures will mean that small is not only beautiful but also worthwhile."

As a result manufacturers are now looking partners in manufacturing and component assembly in the UK

Every great movement has started as 'a small one'.
Daily work towards sustainable development is done by individuals and teams hand in hand.

Kind regards,
Harry

Manufacturing of wind turbine equipment should be promoted in country if jobs are to be created. If the industry was but a temporary one, importation would be fine but since wind turbines are apparently here to stay, manufacturing should pay for itself after the first decade or two of investment. It does not seem logical that by 2030 the UK should be dependent primarily on import of wind turbines and parts.
