Paula, great synopsis! But I don't quite understand how the title relates. Revenues have certainly grown over the decade, but current margins can't possibly translate to cumulative profitability in the industry. Do you have data that proves the industry, and not just some companies, is profitable? Thanks!

Paula, Good summary and accurate points. One line concerns me - "Technology prices are unsustainably low and many in the industry simply do not understand this". Not sure what you mean by that. Those prices better be sustainable. Better be high compared to prices in 2 years. Better be sky high compared to prices in 5 years. To be competitive without any incentives, prices need to be about 30% to 50% of what they are today ($4/W installed). I trust the good old economy of scales and some technology advances to get us there. even if it hurts for a while....

Germany has got a very heavy discussion about the cutting. the pv got very popular in the recent years.. and now it seems that this will come to an end beacause the prices for new pv are nit falling as much, but tey are falling..
