This is the sort of smart box we need. It would be interesting to see how often the users hit the "warmer" button.

This article shows the control side only, doesn't talk of the connection needs to operate the system. Most homes are not wired for electricity, phone, or cable properly.
I've built several homes over the years and can tell everyone that it's tough to get a contractor to adjust his thinking to modernize the plans and add anything. Hell, try to get better insulation done. Spec building only exasperates the problem.
Wireless systems and their limitations of bandwidth, signal strength, and security are the option in existing domiciles. Better planning is needed in new structures now!
