This is another indicator that utilities have a vested interest in owning all energy generation equipment, no matter where its located.

Good thing? Bad thing? Doesn't bode well for those wanting more independence, but I do like the idea of the utilities literally "buying in" to rooftop distributed generation.

Rooftop solar makes sense, once the paradigm is sufficiently refined.
