Acciona's Nevada Solar One is a 72 MW facility, not a 27 MW facility. This is a great introductory article to the CSP industry, but several major companies are not mentioned.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your comment. It has been duly noted. Which companies do you think were not mentioned which deserved to be?

Thanks Paul, I stumbled over the same numbers which would imply a huge capacity factor of >55%. With 72MW it is a different story.

Thats great. All thats missing is each of their annual taxable income.

There is a group that, I wouldn't say they "deserved" to be mentioned but they should be mentioned here at REW.
When will we see an article about the Bilderberger Group and how they figure into Renewable Energies?
If Global warming and all of the other global woes are to be blamed on the activaties of the human race and, the Renewable Energies are here to save the planet Earth for future generations (while making a tidy profit) then, wouldn't that mean Renewable Energies is saving Earth from humanity itself while at the same time profiting from humanity?
Seriously thought, the President of the United States of America is paid $400,000. a year for at least 4 years and at most 8 years. Thats $3,200,000. Do you know what that kind of money is to the Bilderbergers? In comparison to the average American, change found under the seat cushions.
What if it was you? What if you were running for President and someone came to you and said, "I'll'pay you 3 times that if you don't run against _ _ _ _ _ ." Would you be tempted?
This is only a sample of the kind things that are going on around the world today and if you think for one second that Renewable Energies is above it all, that they alone stand on high as some sort of saint/deliverer, untaintable, you are all sadly mistaken.
Something does need to be done about the foul conditions on Earth that has been created by a sudden expolsion of the Human presence. 4.8 billion in just the last 100 years.
Imagine a group of investers wealthy enough that they could create a war, then fund both combatants, profitting the whole time that patroitic citizens are being killed on both sides and these investers, they walk away smiling with nobody the wiser.
Sounds ridiculous stated this way doesn't it? All condensed down so it fits nice and neatly into a nut shell? But its all true. Its been true for a long time.
Welcome back to the real world, "Alice."

a perfect article about CSP
CSP---for China from Himin Solar Energy Group
Particular technology upgrades the solar thermal power generation comprehensively
Coated steel tube and flat anti-reflective coating glass, which are the new development of Himin solar energy group, and mainly used in the area of solar thermal power generation system, are the core components of Fresnel power generation system.
Firstly, the investment and operating costs on Fresnel power generation system is much lower;
Secondly, the utilization life-span of Fresnel power generation system is longer;
Thirdly, it is easier to maintain, for there are no moving parts in the part of collector.
At present, coated steel tube and flat anti-reflective coating glass developed by Himin solar energy group have been exported to America, German, Spain, Australia, etc.

Yes, Hannah,
Arnold Leitner's company SkyFuel should be in this group.

And thank you for this update. It is amazing how many name changes
CSP is going through right now.

Hi Hannah - There are some solar tower companies with very large PPAs in California and elsewhere: eSolar and Brightsource. Also, Stirling Energy Systems has had large contracts for a long time but has yet to build anything. Any ideas on who is going to get construction started soon?
