Jiawei has announced that their modules have been chosen for a number of projects set to be developed under China's Golden Sun Project. Close to 3.5 megawatts (MW) of Jiawei solar modules will be supplied to two electrification projects in Wuhan.
The facilities include the 2.5-MW grid-connected Pak Chuen photovoltaic power generation project and a 1-MW project for the Sinosteel Tiancheng Environmental Protection Science and Technology Co. Ltd.
The Pak Chuen project will take advantage of 2.8 million square feet space at the Pak Chuen facility and provide electricity for the farmers and residents nearby. The 2.5-MW solar power plant is going to be built near the residence consisting of 200 hectare of empty space. Construction will begin at January and will be finished at the end of 2010. The system will provide the local citizens with electricity once the plant is built.
The other project will include 1-MW of panels on the roof tops of the factories and office buildings for power generation for the whole park. The project will be installed by the end of May next year, Jianwei said.
