Germany's Mage Solar Opens U.S. Plant

Decision about site location to be made by the end of November 2009.
Aulendorf, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Mage Solar GMBH, part of the globally operating Mage Group, announced at Solar Power International last week that it plans to construct a production site for Mage Powertec modules in the US.

The company is currently in specific discussions with 5 U.S. states to find suitable locations. The final decision for the production location is to be made by the end of November 2009. In addition, further potential states are being vetted as sites for the production and for the national distribution center. The production of Mage Powertec modules is already slated for the first half of 2010. The company said it will invest approximately US$ 5 million into the first phase of development. "Our decision to create a production site on the North American continent serves to solidify our international strategic position," said Norbert Philipp, CEO of the Mage Solar GMBH.
