Congress Approves US $50M for Water Power Research and Development

Federal lawmakers are being praised for allocating $50 million to the development and deployment of marine and hydrokinetic energy technologies.

"The increased funding from last year indicates a national interest to develop more efficient and cleaner energy options for generations to come."

The allocation by Congress is $10 million higher than the previous year, according to the Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition (OREC).
