AMSC Receives US $10M Wind Turbine Components Order

In its June 2009 report, industry research firm Emerging Energy Research projected that China's wind power installed base would exceed 200 GW by 2020.

I listened to a talk yesterday(11-19-2009) by an employee of AMSC where their high temperature (liquid nitrogen instead of liquid helium or hydrogen) superconductor wire was being toted as being a good solution for national transmission of large amounts of electrical power. It would have lower transmission losses than overhead transmission as well as taking less right of way.
