The decomposition of the organic material is captured and then consumed in three Ingersoll Rand MT250 microturbines to generate the electricity for Silicon Valley Power.

Capturing methane that would ordinarily have escaped into the atmosphere e.g. tapping a landfill-----and mixing with fossil methane, produces can produce greenhouse nuetral emissions in as little as a 6% mixture. It exchanges high greenhouse effect methane to low greenhouse effect CO2.
