Berlin, Germany [Power Engineering] Bionersis and E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R), the division in charge of E.ON Group's global renewables and climate protection activities, have announced that they forge a partnership on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in Southeast Asia.
It is expected to reduce climate harming methane emissions and therefore produce around 2 million CERs over the next ten years.
Under this partnership, Bionersis will install and operate methane recovery and flaring systems on landfill sites in various Asian countries, while EC&R will bring technical expertise in gas fired power generation. Profits from carbon credits (CERs) and energy revenues generated by the projects will be shared between Bionersis and EC&R.
