Colorado, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com]

This week at Solar Power International, Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (AE) introduced the Solaron 250, expanding its line of high-efficiency, transformerless, grid-tie photovoltaic (PV) inverters. With a power level of 250 kW, the company says its Solaron 250 is ideal for commercial rooftop installations.

"The American-built Solaron inverters are particularly well suited for programs that have buy-American requirements."

-- Dr. Hans Betz, President and CEO of Advanced Energy Industries Inc.

"The Solaron 250 extends our Solaron inverter line to a new power level that has excellent growth potential in the commercial PV market," said Dr. Hans Betz, president and CEO of Advanced Energy Industries Inc. "The American-built Solaron inverters are particularly well suited for programs that have buy-American requirements, such as federal building projects and projects supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act."

In related news, AE announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance with Shanghai Guangdian Electric Group (SGEG) in which SGEG will market AE's line of Solaron inverters in China.

Based in Shanghai, SGEG designs, manufactures and markets power electronics and power distribution products in China and says that it have been working with other US-based companies for a decade.  The company also says that it has existing relationships with top Chinese utilities.

SGEG's president and chairman of the board, Dan Yan, said that "AE and SGEG are perfect partners to capture the rapidly emerging Chinese solar utility market. The synergies between SGEG's platform and AE's technology will create powerful results for our customers."
