There goes some more rainforest, with its loss comes more climate change to the world and less rainfall to the US southwest with more flooding in the midwest and northeast. Can't somebody do something about the population of Brazil before the whole weather of the earth is changed?

David's correct, we should stop those Brazilians right now, otherwise they might soon be generating a quarter of the CO2 emission per person per year that the US already does (Brazil 5 tons CO2/year / person, US 25 tons CO2/year / person).
Alternatively, maybe the US could reduce their emissions? - discuss.

I can't comment about the location of these particular hydro projects in Brazil, but many PCHs are located not in rainforests, but in anthropized (by 100s of years) areas used for cattle grazing or other agricultural purposes. One can argue about that too, of course.
