Siemens In US Wind Turbine Production Plan

Erlangen, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com]

Siemens intends to build a new production facility for wind turbines in the state of Kansas.

"The United States already is and will continue to be one of the world's fastest growing wind energy markets."

-- Peter Löscher, CEO, Siemens AG.

Construction of the 300,000 square foot nacelle production facility in Hutchinson, Kansas is scheduled to begin in August 2009.

The nacelles will weigh 90 tons and the first is expected to be shipped in December 2010. All nacelles produced in Hutchinson will be used in the company's 2.3 MW turbine range.

Initially, the factory's planned annual output is approximately 650 nacelles – or 1500 MW -and 400 new jobs are expected to be created in the facility .

The company says that Hutchinson is near the centre of the continental United States and offers excellent transportation logistics. The factory will include direct loading onto rail as well as potentially utilizing the barge facilities at the port of Catoosa, located 250 miles from the plant.

"The United States already is and will continue to be one of the world's fastest growing wind energy markets," stated Peter Löscher, CEO of Siemens AG.

Since we are one of the fastest growing wind markets in the world,
and our white house is 'committed' to greening up America, why don't we have more big American companies getting into this arena? Don't get me wrong : I love Vestas and Siemens. But, at the end of the day, their profit is headed to Denmark and Germany. How about a domestic co. earns a domestic profit with a renewable resource?

Steve: That's precisely what I'm counting on General Electric to do.

General Electric is too big for it self to be nimble.

Why not make Micro Combined Heat and Power. They have expertise in Natural Gas Power systems. Japan and Germany makes them right now.

They can invest in Vertical Axis wind turbine. No need to have an acre of land as compared to horizontal axis wind turbine.

There is a HUGE undeveloped market ready to be tapped.

AMUSING.

JUST BECAUSE THE GENETIC SOURCE OF A COMPANY IS OFFSHORE, DOES NOT MEAN 'ALL THE PROFIT' WILL RUN AWAY. NOR THE WAGES,NOR THE TAXES, NOR INCREASED INVESTMENT.

IF THEY MAKE PROFIT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, ) LIK,E YOU INVESTING IN ANY WORLD STOCK), THEY CAN INVEST IT WHERE THEY SEE FIT

MANY AMMI CO'S MAKE MONEY OFFSHORE, OR EVEN WHILE MAKING IT IN AMMI-LAND, FORM AN OFFSHORE COMPANY AS H/Q, AND EVADE AMMI TAXES.

IT'S A NEW WORLD. JUST ASK THE bho bOY WHO RUNS YOUR SHIP.
