Article doesn't say, but if all they're doing is burning E85, then this is a waste.
The best use of Ethanol is as a metered knock suppressor.

It's about time that the correct combination of ethanol/hybrid is being tested. Of course, it's overseas and not here in the US, which is why our car compainies are floundering. Think!!! Sam-EPEC.

The article says that they run on diesel engines. They have probably added hotter glow plugs and adjusted air/fuel mix. Other than that, diesel engines would not require any modification.

Chemrec, a Swedish company, is a leader in technology to produce ethanol from "black liquor" a waste product of paper pulp production.
