Northern Power Systems Launches Wind for Schools Package

Across the country, elementary and secondary schools spend more than US $4.1 billion on energy and use over 50 billion kilowatt hours of electricity every year. At 100 kilowatts (kW) of rated power, a Northwind 100 can offset a large portion of the energy costs for an individual school.

Danner said that the wind for schools package is a large part of the company's business moving forward. The company also plans to scale its 100-kW magnetic direct drive technology up to the 2-megawatt level in the next 18 months.
