Ohio, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com]

Isofoton's U.S. subsidiary, Malaga Isofoton North America, has signed an agreement with the state of Ohio by which the state will assist the company in building a new solar photovoltaic module production facility.

Isofoton is now seeking strategic utility partners to develop its U.S. business plans.

The agreement concludes process that was initiated in 2007. During the past two years the company conducted studies to find the proper location and partners for the facility.

The start of the production at the plant will take place between the years 2010 and 2011, with an estimated production capacity of 60 megawatts of photovoltaic modules. Isofotón is now seeking strategic utility partners to develop its U.S. business plans.

"We are tremendously excited that Isofotón has committed to expanding into Ohio," Governor of Ohio Ted Strickland said at the Spain-U.S. Business Sustainability Conference in March.
