MicroScreen Completes Solar Cell Printing Facility

Indiana, United States [RenewableEnergyWorld.com]

MicroScreen has completed a new facility dedicated to the manufacture of screens for solar cell printing. Built on the same site as the company's screen manufacturing operation, this new area quadruples the company's capacity.

The technology is derived from over 27 years of experience in the manufacture of thick film screens.

MicroScreen maintains an inventory of both stainless steel and polyester mesh which can be mounted 90°, 45°, and 22.5°, coated with emulsion and exposed with the customer’s circuit design.

The climate-controlled facility is equipped with totally automated stretch tables, coating machines, drying ovens and exposure equipment. This technology for solar energy comes out of the company's 27 years of experience in the manufacture of thick film screens for other applications.

The screen printed solar cell market still makes up only a small part of the solar photovoltaic market, however a number of companies are making moves into that space. Late last year, Suniva Inc. announced that it had developed several silicon solar cells in its lab with more than 20% conversion efficiencies. These high efficiency milestones have been verified by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

I am also looking out for solar cell manufacturers who are using the technology of screen printing for production. I understand that this provide higher production volumes at a much lesser cost. There are large investors who will be willing to participate in partnership or finance such company's growth. qsurti@gmail.com

Looking forward to some positive replies.
