I've been wondering, since it's going to be very hot summers, and less water available, if there wasn't some way that plants could be sheltered and water conserved by a shade overhead with translucent solar array on top so that at the same time, the farmer could be generating electricity for use on the farm, or to add to the grid. Maybe this could be one application suitable for the purpose.
