"Many more jobs will be created in the installation of solar energy than in manufacturing. Training is critical for an array of solar installers and tradesmen, which were abandoned by the housing industry. They will be put back to work and this absolutely includes professionals and executives."

Another great article Dawn! Please keep writing; your insights on the personnel aspects of the growing renewable energy industry are far more useful and accurate than any others I see.

The right perspective about the solar / RE manpower in the article is very much true. It is the need of the hour for all over the world especially for US where a large % of educated youth is un / under employed.

The increasing green power installations in several lead countries including India, Spain, US, Geramany, China etc are looking for trained and skilled executives and technicians to bridge the gap of manpower requirement.

Good .Keep it up please so that more and more youth get motivated globally towards Renewable Energy set ups.

Congratulations

1. In Africa, most foreign bio fuel companies brought in the wrong people for
the "right" jobs

2. They came for adventure using taxpayer's money and not for business

3. They made 1$ from 8 $ - hence closures and problems with growers

4. Plan A and B did not exist in their books

5. Jobs were filled with people with little or no experience in related fields

Great article Dawn. Well written. The gap is that cleantech companies are not tapping transferable executive skills and depth of experience from other industries.
