Although the research is excellent, the relationship between solar EPPs and market efficiency is tenuous. If there is a cost associated with that EPP, (for example SunPower and HP $2k) then transaction costs would merely be transferred to marketing costs.

You may make the argument that group purchasing allows for aggregated negotiating power, yet in reality I would say this is far from true.

It is correct to assume that combined customer education is achieved with EPP programs, and thus there is some gain in transaction costs.

Jon is a positive contribution to the photovoltaic industry. Of course it is rapidly growing now. Our company, Photon Energy Systems, is about to produce the mystical $1/watt solar cell and I want Jon to write about that. We make 50 micron thick high lifetime, single crystal solar cells which are processed in gigawatt quantities at very low cost.
