Sea Breeze Bids Wind and Hydro Projects into BC Clean Power Call

British Columbia, Canada [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Sea Breeze Power Corp. announced that its subsidiary, Powerhouse Developments Inc., has submitted the Cascade Heritage Power Project into BC Hydro's Clean Power Call.

The 25-megawatt (MW) Cascade Heritage Power Project is a run-of-river hydro generation facility located at the site of the Cascade Power Dam on the Kettle River close to Christina Lake in southeast British Columbia. "Sea Breeze Power Corp. has an outstanding team that has been working hard toward this day," said Sea Breeze Power Corp. President and CEO Paul B. Manson. "Sea Breeze is confident in the Project's prospect to secure a contract from the Call, and following the receipt of a power purchase agreement, we look forward to construction beginning in 2009." Sea Breeze Power also announced that its proposed 99-megawatt Knob Hill Wind Farm on northern Vancouver Island has been submitted into BC Hydro's 2008 Clean Power Call. Knob Hill was the first wind farm project reviewed under the British Columbia (BC) Environmental Assessment Act and it has subsequently acquired all its environmental permits.
