The thrust of the article and Clipper's response is exactly right. All new technologies will have problems. The real question is one of how will the owner of the technology face up to the problems, learn from them, improve their product to continually drive down defect rates and keep their customers whole and satisfied. Sounds like a first class response from Clipper -- Congratulations!
