The national network I direct, GlobalWarmingSolution.org, invoked this American spirit in its emissions reduction proposal, "Rosie Revisited: A U.S.-Led Solution to GlobalWarming", www.GlobalWarmingSolution.org, released in July, 2007. The report demonstrates the technological and economic feasibility of reducing U.S. carbon dioxide emissions 80% below 1990 levels by 2025. In addition, the straightforward methodology we employed for the U.S. energy system could be applied in countries around the world so that these urgently needed emissions reductions are global. It is the most aggressive emissions reduction proposal of any U.S. national environmental group.

Help us make it happen!

Why anyone in their right mind would listen to Newt Gingrich is beyond me. I'm a retired electrician with a pv installer certificate, and can't get anyone to listen. Newt and his crony's have led us down a path that leaves working class peoplewith no way to pay for these systems, even with subsidies. The only conclusion is that the Corporations have controll and are not going to give it up easily. I worry about these things not for myself, but for all the children who will be paying for this in the future. The only answer is to try to elect officials who will promiseto promote these things and if they don't elect someone else. Our representatives are elected every 2 years, get to work people. As for Mr. Erickson, please crawl back in your hole, some of us have seen the changes and climate change is no joke..

I was disappointed with Newt Gingrich's keynote during the Virtual Energy Forum. He proclaims any fed sponsored program will fail, or fare very poorly when compares to private sector ones. Newt cites the assignment of Smithsonian to invent an airplane as an example (the only example he uses in the keynote). So he suggestion is simply do nothing, wait for the perfect solution to be invented by the private sector. Clint Wilder's article is a breathe of fresh air. This nation badly needs leadership, which has not been seen from the Bush Admin.

The war wasn't won with one type of weapon produced at one factory but with multiple types that worked best in different situations.

The same is true with energy. Geothermal isn't the end all, and solar isn't either. It will be a combination different RE sources combined with conservation and efficiency. This addresses the tools.

Of course, we still lack the leadership and strategy to get everyone focused in the same direction.

I wonder if the earth is really an unlimited source of thermal energy. It has some considerable expense involved also. Do we really want to test the theory of unmitigated cooling of the crust of the globe?
It certainly seems like the nuclear reactor that operates safely at a distance of about 93 million miles away is our safest bet for unlimited energy. If we can clean our atmosphere more the benefits in solar insolation only increase.
So much thinking and so little action about simple obviousness.

Hats off to Dominic Jermano for bringing us to the Geothermal question. However Dominic you forgot one thing. There is Geothermal Energy in the back yards of every home, business and building just 6 feet down. You do not have to build giant power plants in the US you just have to promote Geothermal Heat Pumps and Geoexchange Systems as your solution. I sent in four questions during the two days of the forum and none of them got answered because they were on the Geothermal subject. Twice more I got cut off when I sumitted questions. Why? Because the utilities are afraid of the energy in your back yard. It is available and it is free with an equipment payback within three to five years. I know this article, like my questions will probably not be printed. However if you want the real story about geoexchange system go to my web page at www.corbinenterprises.com I have been trying to get this word out for several years and know from what I say. I am president of Go Green Development Consortium, Inc a Vermont Corporation. I would love to hear from all who would like more information to the " ANSWER" Bill Corbin PS I thought the Forum was exceptionally well done and to John and Newt you both did a great job. John I would strongly support you for VP

Now when Oil is skyhigh we think about developing Geothermal? We have been ass backward for all these years, and our political leaders have failed us miserably. They have failed the American people.

So I am not going to try and sell you to develop Geothermal in the USA, because the rankerous tone is so elevated. But we can quell the animosity by using Geothermal development in Foreign countries while using it to get lower Oil prices to do the work. How about it? I seek your help and I wish to represent the USA in China, India, and possibly Russia in the future. We will only see good things come from this. Hope to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Mr. Dominic Jermano

since they really need the benefit due to earthquakes. Geothermal Energy reduces earthquake activitiy in the world by relieving pressure built up in the underground, This release of pressure stops shifts of layered rock from moving. It works, and if Sichuan had Geothermal Sites in China, they would not be faced with 80,000+ dead.

I am looking to you Newt and John, because we are impotent in the US with the current Bush-McCain-Obama Administration. They are not for helping Geothermal anywhere in the world. Geothermal is the answer rain or shine, day or night there is a constant unending supply of energy that permeates from the earths core. Why are we so blind to this, and sitting on our hands is beyond me.

Presently I am located in PR China, because of the attack on my home in New York during 911. I refuse to return, because of the political problems there, but I am willing to be an American Rep. in China for Geothermal Development. I have always believed in stability and assurance with long ties to people who assure needs of energy. Frankly the US is quite volatile, and unstable with prices always escalating. We need to establish stability and assurance to this energy resource. I hope to be your guy in doing that.

Not only could geothermal be the answer to energy but also it is a pivotal instrument in stopping terrorism. People without energy resources are able to aquire energy, without thinking they are losing all their valuable oil to some other country. Terror will stop because everyone has their needs met, and no animosity is in the air over Superpowers who are without are now invading those who have the oil resources.

I ask for your help to do this Geothermal Development overseas in Foreign Countries, with trade deals that will benefit the US by acquiring Oil resources at lower cost. Think about that! We have failed to bring online Geothermal Energy when the price of oil was inexpensive to do the work. Now when Oil is skyhigh we thi

Dear Mr. Kerry and Mr. Gingrich,

You know, I don't know what we are getting out of this forum exercise, except maybe a fancy way to think we are in a real forum. Actually its not. There are thousands of people who want to do something to be productive in creating alternative energy. I have been trying to get going with Geothermal Development, but where to turn? Who do I talk to to begin starting a company? How to get money to do the work? These are the real problems.

Look John and Newt, I want to start a Geothermal Drilling Company that sets-up Geothermal Sites throughout the world. Especially war torn areas of the world. If we can be a positive example to the world then why not do it? Here we have Iran who says they are developing nuclear energy for electric, when they could easily be using Geothermal instead. Why don't we help them get Geothermal energy and convince them that nuclear is not an option. We can trade our Geothermal labor for their Oil.

If America is so hell bent on remaining in the Oil business and America wants the Oil, then by all means do something for the Foreign Countries to get an energy resource. We can put in their Geothermal plants if they give us their oil. Its a simple agreement.

My idea is that Geothermal Energy will be our transportation energy resource. Roads and highways will have an electric connection to the road as the vehicle travels along. Vehicles will gain energy as they drive from the Geothermal source. Their batteries kick in when going off the road to wherever they are going. If America wants to remain #1 it should be pressing Geothermal Development in Foreign Countries, while it gets their Oil for America. Since America is so stubborn to take on Geothermal in its own borders, then use Geothermal as a means to get oil from foreign countries. It is one hell of a way to bargain the price of oil per barrel to lower levels. Geothermal could be started in Japan, since they really need the benefit due

My, my, flag waving, hero invoking - propaganda at its best. You neglected religion.

My father and his generation became involved in other people's wars only after the fight was brought to them. Taking on efforts of epic proportion is not something the general population does very often.

It would help if there was a clear and present danger. This CO2 'threat' is such a load. If the people who claim to believe it actually did they wouldn't be opposed to nuclear power. It appears they want to dictate the 'solution' on their terms.

It's all about money. Why glorify a factory? Rather, use people who live 'off grid', without subsidies, as examples of heroes. Those are your warriors. They are fighting your war for you.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

many false, but only just a few p a r t i a l l y correct "energy solutions" exist.

"None of these energy solutions can beat GEOTHERMIC HEAT."
Well, not geothermal, but geothermic ! Why ?

Because these higher geothermic temperatures - "up to 500 degrees Celsious - are required for an efficient, economic and inexpensive electricity production in a new "GEO Power Plant"!

At this time - so-called deep-drilling technology - is not capable to penetrate deep ( more than 5 miles ! ) with inadequate bore-hole-diameters into the earth crust.
The bore-diameters must step-down and the own weight of the drill -extensions do not permit to dig deeper together with an inadequate process not allowing to chisel or roto-hammer into the hardest rock formations on earth. - What a complete nonsense, but deep-drilling technologies can only scratch, scrap and slowly grind !

However, if you can harvest higher temperatures in ten or more miles depth with chiseling, hammering and can establish SVTs ( SIREX Vertical Tunnels ) together with a far more aggressive method (!) our modern turbines can spin with their highest efficiency the electric generators to serve sustainable base load for our cities, industries, transportation systems etc.
See http://turbojack.blogspot.com or visit the website at turbojack.com or GESO.biz.

It is our moral responsibility to stop worldwide pollution, to end artificial global warming and to begin education about viable facts that are capable and in reach to change our world for a better future for generations to come.

Only open-minded people, willing to learn, to ask questions and get answers can understand there is a much brighter energy solution.
"Education", not distraction, misinformation or silence for all is most important !!!

The help in these endeavors of all people is required to succeed in this noble task.
