RenewableEnergyAccess Co-Founders Announce New Partnership

We've just inked a joint venture partnership agreement that has been in works for months and wanted to let you know what this means for us — and most importantly for you.

First of all, our new partner, the PennWell Corporation, a diversified global media and information company, is a company that we know well. They have actually been a publishing colleague and customer for several years, and we feel that they are great match for our growing company.

Still under our guidance, RenewableEnergyAccess.com's online presence will complement PennWell's other important renewable energy properties, Renewable Energy World magazine, Power Gen Renewable Energy & Fuels Conference & Exhibition and Renewable Energy Europe Conference & Exhibition. This new partnership will open up new markets for us and allow us to draw on the vast experience of one of the world leaders in energy publishing. They've been at it for nearly 100 years — and we respect that greatly.

While we had fended off other acquisition inquiries along the way, this is one that seemed to make sense to us. There were lots of good reasons to create this new partnership -- PennWell's years of experience in traditional energy publishing giving us a broader platform for renewables, large R&D investment in online publishing, opportunities to expand our customer base outside of our strong North America base to a truly worldwide audience, a new ability to influence the "mainstreaming" of renewables into traditional energy markets and on and on.

It made sense too because it served four key constituencies so important to us.

It served our gracious angel investors who got out whole and then some. It served our dedicated and talented staff, who deserve all the applause and everything they can get to balance their work and life to its fullest. It served each of our families, who were always there to support us through thick and lots of thin since our inception in 1999.

And finally, we think this new partnership will continue to serve you — our customer, our reader and our industry — very well in the many years to come.
