There is an update to this story. See: http://www.windaction.org/news/12569

"Molokai Properties Limited (dba Molokai Ranch) CEO Peter Nicholas responded today to UPC Wind's announcement that it is pledging $50 million to the Molokai Community Service Council's "Buy the Ranch" campaign. ...In a letter addressed to MCSC President Glenn Izawa, Nicholas reiterated what he had said in a July letter published in The Molokai Times stating that the Ranch is not for sale."

Variety is the main indication of a healthy competition in a field of endeavor. In wind energy there is only the single wind turbine design which seems to be everywhere. Can the design be altered by competition or revised to make a more efficient and productive machine?

We developed more efficient vertical shaft wind turbine for commercial size which is 1 to 2MW with about two times coefficient and about one third height compared to conventional propeller type. This world patented turbine is available for wind firm other than offshore. See our URL:www.etllc.org for details.
