More wind power = good ... profits to Portugal = maybe not so good...

PV Sales in CA: You may be right to say that profits to Portugal are not necessarily what the US Wind market wants, but I think it is inevitable. Look at the top wind turbine manufacturers: Vestas (Denmark), Siemens (Germany), GE (US), Suzlon (Holland)...among many other international corporations.

This is a worldwide problem to be solved by the global community :)

You may invest in Vestas through the Market Vectors Global Alternative Energy ETF (GEX). One of the companies in the portfolio is Vestas, along with a slightly smaller stake in Gamesa, Europe's other turbine manufacturer.

Although GE is a manufacturer of wind turbines, its excursion into alt energy is very small. It is a shame this country has to buy technology from Europe with devalued dollars. The upside is that Vestas partners with domestic enterprises.
