Creating brand equity that sustains for the long term is an essential facet of a renewable energy company's development. With brand loyalty a variable in many segments of the market, switching a company name, look or logo could be detrimental to growth, effectively dissolving any established expertise or brand affinity.

Great piece! This industry has been in the R&D stage for so long that commercialization concepts like branding and marketing seem to be slow on the uptake. Witness the small number of responses here . . . . .

Very interesting and timely article. The successful marketing of a lifestyle shift for Americans (and others, of course) is long overdue. No one's fault, we've all been busy and there's so many other distractions in our fast lives.

We get the benefits of this technology in our pockets, in our lungs, in our future. It's not just a gadget or another iToy. This is real, and it's here. However, only when it hits the pocketbook do we start to see it in the news or that John Q. Public pays attention.

Now, if we can just get that point across to the public... nearly any alternative energy solution is an improvement. The industry is young, evolving, and volatile.

Spread the word!

nufsed

I'm not a phyics professor, but one is who has gained good insightful from articles like this one. Geothermal and PV are our two best choices for lowering our high Carbon footprint short term and long term from what I've read-and from what logic tells anyone.

One need not be a PhD to see or understand this either. PV will continue to evolve; smaller companies will sell out to the GE's etc and GeoThermal breaches will be made; just as they have been in the last two ro three years in drilling for oil in "deep" recesses.

After that,...good buy OPEC and international conflict, pressure and the need to kiss ass. We'll have enough to sustain, and if we stay tight with Canada, be in good shape for many decades.

20 years from now, we will drive with PV charged PHEV's and power our houses the same way. Housing communities will count on collective Geothermal and PV to live in a sustainable way ina way reasonable to our (7 billion) inhabitants by then. No more rediculous 3500sq' housing.
