Madrid, Spain [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Endesa Generation has received a municipal permit to build a 20.1 megawatt (MW) photovoltaic solar energy plant on land situated in the Guadarranque industrial park in San Roque (Cadiz). Once completed, the plant will have a production capacity of 36 GWh per year. Being built in two stages, construction on the first stage of the plant will begin this month with the end result being 12.3 MW of installed power covering 37 hectares. To date, ENDESA Generation has completed all the engineering work required for the construction of the plant. The equipment supplier (current reversers and transformers) is currently being selected from the major domestic and international suppliers.
