EMG Acquires Three Wind U.S. Power Projects

The facilities -- Mountain Wind Energy Center I in Wyoming with 60 megawatts (MW) of capacity, Mountain Wind Energy Center II in Wyoming with 80 MW, and Pioneer Ridge Wind Energy Center in Utah with 70 MW -- will be built, owned and operated by EMG, which will sell the output to PacifiCorp under long-term power sales agreements.

The first project, Mountain Wind I in Wyoming, is in construction with an expected completion around year-end. Construction timetables have not yet been established for Mountain Wind II and Pioneer Ridge, pending completion of additional development activities. EMG manages the competitive power generation business of Edison International, an electric power generator and distributor, and an investor in infrastructure and renewable energy projects with assets totaling more than $36 billion.

EMG's portfolio currently consists of more than 700 MW of power generating capacity either in operation or under construction at 15 projects in five states, including Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Trilateral Energy, an independent power development company based in Wilson, Wyoming, is an international developer in wind, geothermal, clean coal, biofuels and emergency power solutions. Tasco Engineering, with headquarters in Lehi, Utah, has been involved in the development of wind generation since 2001.
