What do folks think ? Is this going to wake everyone up? The resdential sector in PG&E territory is slow and the TOU rates here don't have as much of an impact .

The general Idea of solar power generation is to relieve the unfair TOU rate altogether by producing a huge surplus of solar power in the high demand summer season when solar production can peak, and no more rolling blackouts. This promises to hurt the perceived bottom line of the utility companies unless they can assert monopoly power over solar production, installation and delivery. Imagine controlling the solar surplus and delivering it only to those who can pay the most, nevermind the taxpayer subsidized surplus. Now one might understand the recent financial squeeze recently applied to california via the CPUC.

Let us observe the time; some of us are continually among those of understanding. Is the situation really 'CSI' or the value of 'TOU'?

"Valuing the Time-Varying Electricity Production of Solar Photovoltaic Cells".
