Waverly Light and Power Will Pursue Wind Turbines

Waverly, Iowa [The Courier] The city's utility company on [April 3] received a blessing for staff members to pursue the purchase of one, and possibly two, wind turbines. Officials with Waverly Light and Power will continue to study offers by two companies that placed bids. ... The utility is considering purchasing 900-kilowatt turbines from Americas Wind Energy, a Canadian company. The other offer under scrutiny is for a single, 1,500-kilowatt turbine from Vensys, which is based in Germany.
