Congress

Spend hear, spend there, spend everwhere our congress likes to spend,
But when it comes to energy, it has no ear to lend,
Renewables are not do-ables when it comes time to vote,
Pork spending and our "stay the course" is sinking now our boat,
What pride our country has to share democracy with all,
And now we're stretched so thin that we are bound to take a fall,
To oil we are addicted but we keep the needle deep,
How can renewables progress when we are half asleep,
Committed we are really not except to our self-glory,
Failing to take action, later on we may be sorry.
