The market for solar energy has risen sharply in recent years, and the demand for polysilicon significantly exceeds supply.

Now that REC has invested another $600 million to create 6000 metric tons of new solar grade silicon, who will step up to complete the product chain in Moses Lake? Evergreen Solar? Ever-Q Gmbh? Microsoft? Yahoo? The largest and lowest cost solar PV module production complex in the world could be built at that location. $100 million in venture capital could create a $2 billion per year industry in the Northwest.
