"Although there is no single technological or policy solution to climate change and energy independence in the U.S., renewable energy is clearly destined to play an important role in the years to come -- and now is the time to lay the foundation."

-- Eileen Claussen, Pew Center on Global Climate Change, president

I saw a recent program on pollution in China. A chinese lady collected bottles of polluted water and they ranged in color from red to yellow to black, simply ghastly. The reporter showed us the water in the rivers and I am sure that anyone with a cut that fell in would die from the bacteria just as did the man who fell in the Ala Wai Canel in Waikiki, Honolulu did at the time of the recent sewage spill.

Tourists in China said that air pollution is so bad that you can taste it in your mouth. On many days, you can barely see the outlines of the city buildings.

Climate change needs the assitance of every country; all should do their share. We can point a finger at others but must realize that coal burning policies advocated by President Bush are pushing us in the wrong direction.

This is a great study. I wish the author would address how many megawatts and jobs the 22 states are estimated to generate by the years 2017 or 2020. This would be nice to compare with a national 10% or 20% RPS by the year 2020.
