"The consensus view is that wind power impacts can be managed with proper design and operation of the system. There is still a lot of work to be done to get the message across and get everyone up the learning curve, but we are well on the way."

So do we follow the Europeans and link many Wind Farms to maintain the wind energy input or do we decentralize it?I hope this paper clears up this potential problem.

The report is most promising. I think that as wind energy becomes integrated into the grid system, we will see that the 20% peak limit for integration will change. As we are far from that point at the present, there will be time for technology to develop.

I think that wind farm energy from different geographical locations should be linked once the technology has been worked out.

The way I read the statement, they simply picked 20% of our peak demand and asked themselve if that percentage is safe. What about higher percentages? 40% or 60%? Can computer controls be used to manage output from the many wind farms that will sprout up?
