I wish you much luck, for there is no reason why over three billion people, one half of the planet, does not have reliable electricity 24 hours each day, clean water, and the needed energy for healthcare, education and business creation.

Ona,
While I am sure that your query is legitimate, I would also suggest another step. You might publicize in your own country the negative effect of all the fraudulent e-mails that we U.S. solar dealers receive, usually from Nigeria. Always, it's a request to purchase PV modules, inverters, etc. with a credit card, to be shipped to your country. The credit card numbers are always stolen, and this is well known and publicised among reputable solar dealers in the U.S. This deceitful activity by others in your country makes it hard to distinguish and trust legitimate requests.

I represent a company that has been active in the solar business in Nigeria for a number of years now. We concentrate on 'solar thermal applications' and are involved with two Nigerian institutions on R&D into 'solar for electricity'. Generally, for renewable energy to be sustainable we (all stake holders) have to be in-ward looking. We believe in emphasising local participation and creativity. As a contributor to this debate said, nobody will give you free equipment. We think the UN agencies will let a helping hand if and when they observe some seriousness. My telephone number is 08033042188 and e-mail is jombassolar@yahoo.com. Thank you. BABATUNDE OLUWASEGUN SOGUNRO
