Toronto, Ontario [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Ontario green-electricity retailer (100%), Bullfrog Power, announced its 2006 Green Index of green-power buyers in Ontario. The index recognizes organizations that help to create a healthier environment for children, communities and future generations by choosing clean, renewable power.
Bullfrog Power, said to be the first 100% green electricity retailer in Ontario, has pledged 10% of company profits to organizations that promote sustainability.
More than 50 companies fall under five different levels of megawatt hours (MWh) of annual green power purchased: Ambassador (10,001 MWh), Steward (1000-9,999 MWh), Herald (500-999 MWh), Envoy (100-499 MWh), Advocate (1-99 MWh).
Bullfrog Power, said to be the first 100% green electricity retailer in Ontario, has pledged 10% of company profits to organizations that promote sustainability. Every "bullfrogpowered" customer ensures that their electricity dollars support clean, renewable energy producers who are displacing polluting and CO2-emitting electricity production on the Ontario grid. Bullfrog Power sources power exclusively from pollution-free wind and low-impact hydro generators that meet or exceed the federal government's Environmental Choice Program EcoLogo standard for renewable energy.
