There is a cellulosic bio-ethanol plant (very small) in Truckee,Ca. Will research this and post again with links.

My fellow Minnesotan is well intentioned for trying to make use of left-over agricultural wastes. However, he is misguided in believing that ethanol is the best way to utilize this resource. Any individual working on any one thing for five years is bound to have some tunnel vision (I'm guilty also). As a nation, we would be far better served by converting his corn stalks and other biomass into methanol. a) we wouldn't have to pay the royalties to some Euro-Candadian conglomerate for the enzymes to make the cellulosic process work b) we could derive much more use on a per-pound conversion by going with methanol production c) methanol would be as cheap or cheaper to produce d) methanol produces much lower and fewer emissions. e) methanol allows for more miles to the gallon.

I would be keen to know technology suppliers for conversion of agri-inputs to ethanol and biodiesel for plants to be set up in India.

We want to set up a plant in North India
for producing Ethanol or Methanol from agrowaste(corn, wheat, rice). We are looking
for consultants who can start this project
on BOT basis or provide consultancy on
turn-key basis.
