"Whether it's with wind power or energy resources grown right on Wisconsin farms, we have the resources here to move toward energy independence. Doing so will keep our energy dollars in our local economies instead of purchasing fuels from outside the state. And investing in new renewable energy technologies will create more good jobs right here in Wisconsin. I hope the Assembly will follow the Senate's lead, and act quickly to get this legislation to my desk."

Thats what I like to here Gov. Jim Doyle of Wisconsin. Lets get the ball a rolling.
I hope that Gov. Jennifer Granholm of Michigan will do the same here too. I believe that it is what we were looking for in demands of starting new jobs.

The government pays $0.53 a gallon for ethanol in attempt to reduce the price. Ethanol has 38% less energy than gasoline. Plus some reports show that more energy is required to produce ethanol than is in the fuel. The result is more energy being used. So ethanol mandates are not a well thought out policy. It happens quite often that policy that sounds good in reality ends up costing us hole lot money.

I don't live in Wisconsin anymore but recently I have seen the ethonol plant in Iskish and wheb I paid $2.37 fir gasoline, Ethonol (E85) was selling for $1.95.
With expanded production I believe we could get the price of ethonol down to a dollar a gallon.
I've also been reading about the production og coal to petroleum to be used in vehicles, planes and for heating.
Wisconsin needs more and better jpbs, especially in the northern part of the state.
Let's get on the ball USA abd let the reat of the world buy the Arabs expensive oil.

Pie in the Sky Ethanol and Higher Pie in the Sky Hydrogen are good reasons for the actual laws to require energy efficiency transparancy and honesty.

I agree with Jeff. It does not make good sense to use something that costs so much energy to produce and contributes to the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere. I also agree with Robert on passing laws affecting energy transparancy and honesty.

I think that wind or PV to grid to plug-ins would be better but the energy and environmental costs of producing wind generators, PV systems and plug in vehicle batteries must also be stated for a fair comparison.
