"In the face of the definitely limited resources of gas, coal and oil, Professor Luther has prescribed the urgent and necessary change in our energy system. If Germany is one of the leading nations in the use of solar energy today, then it is definitely due to his efforts."

I have been to the Fraunhofer Institute in Freiburgh, Germany and was very impressed with the facility. I met several members of the staff and keep in touch with their solar improvments, testing and innovations.

The USA has been ladding in this field and I have too been to several of their top facilities, The NREL in Colorado and the Florida SolarEnergy Center in Cocoa, Fl... THe funding for these facilities are being threatened by the Bush administration. The 'Energy Star' program may be on the cutting block, thus eliminating any improvments to appliances in the usa... So sad to see that the oil industry has such a tight grip on the usa and those in charge...

In 2008 let us see if the americans wise up and elect an official NOT influenced by the lobby dollars...

With the current GOP's being investigated for numerous crimes the administration my be gone sooner... We can only hope!!

Heartiest congratulations to Dr Joachim Luther and Dr Berndt on this prestigious award as well as achieving 20% efficiency in polycrystalline silicon solar cells.
I would appreciate receiving more details in this regard and look forward for further interaction.
