#SolarMOOC: FRIDAY July 12, 2013 @ 1PM CT (11AM PT, 2PM ET) -- There's a lot of information out there about solar energy, and a lot of it tends to be misleading. This coming Friday, Dave Dixon, CTO at Native Solar (Austin, TX) will share his expertise in a fun and informative lecture on solar photovoltaics in which we will dispel many myths surrounding solar energy.
One of the biggest hinderances to the growth of Solar PV, or photovoltaics is education. Most of us will not embrace and invest in that which we do not understand. There is a potential that fossil fuel lobbyists might be stirring up rumors, and it is our responsibility to educate ourselves on the facts and figures, and dispell the myths created by dishonestor misled representatives (from both sides).
On Friday July 12th, Dave Dixon will share his expertise on the matter, shedding light on solar, and sending the audience off with ammunition for the solar argument. He might even give us some bad news- but I have a feeling that things are going to be leaning towards to sun when this lecture is through.
David has been with Native since 2008 and is responsible for evaluating and implementing the technologies that enable zero energy home building.
David earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from the University of Connecticut in 1994. After five years in the HVAC industry, he returned to the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus in environmental science and solar design in 2000.
