Austin, TX Thursday November 29th, 2012 #SolarMOOC Webinar Lecture Live @ 4PM PST, 6PM CDT, 7PM EST Join SolPowerPeople and Rene Geneva on November 29th to learn how to put together an off-grid system that's ready to roll to any place at anytime. Rene will show us how a small portable trailer can be built at relatively low cost, and how this off-grid system can be ready to save the day in as little as 48 hours.
Energy is a driving force in our world, making it possible for us to be a productive society around the clock and around the world. The advancement of modern technology and infrastructure means that many places in the world have readily accessible energy. In locations where this is not the case, when this power is not accessible, or when the grid is down there needs to be another solution.
Portable solar offers a solution for situations where standard power is not available, or for those who prefer a more clean and free type of energy. A solar trailer can be designed to assist with disaster relief, emergency response, work sites where energy isn't accessible, and outdoor concerts or events. There are so many possibilities- you can take this type of energy system wherever the sun shines- pretty much anywhere on Earth.
Rene Geneva brings a fresh look at the possibilities behind harnessing your own power supply to the worldwide #SolarMOOC stage. With a 'just-do-it' sort of attitude and a solid understanding of solar PV, she brings to the table an inspiring attitude of possibility.
Thursday evening Rene will share the secret of how to construct a portable solar trailer that can be pulled behind almost any vehicle, as well as how to set it up with an off-grid solar PV system.
Founder of Texas Indie Solar, Rene Geneva has a diverse background rich in sustainable practice and experience. At age 19 Rene started her own company in sustainable fashion design, Rene Geneva Design, LLC. She traveled the world, worked with indigenous communities, and became a motivational speaker empowering the youth she met along the adventure by inspiring them to embrace the power of possibility behind their visions and true potential.
After 14 years of a successful fashion career and many adventures, Rene found herself with a desire to expand her horizons to include solar photovoltaics with a specialty in off-grid solar engineering. She now works with Long Horn Solar, Texas Indie Solar (Founder), and continues to develop her work with Geneva Design, LLC.
